Solar Panel Installation Further Enhances Sustainability Goals at Tailored Image

Leading uniform and corporate clothing specialist Tailored Image has reached a major milestone in its sustainability programme with the installation of photovoltaic (PV) panels at its Dungannon headquarters. This initiative further underlines the company’s commitment to reducing its carbon footprint, having reached Carbon Neutral status for the first time in 2023 and maintaining this status since.

Totalling 145 in number, the new solar panels each have a 435W output, amassing 63.03 kWp of energy output across the expanse – covering a surface area of 283.1m2 across the roof of the building. The company has worked closely with industry experts Solmatix Renewables on the installation to ensure the best possible output, thereby creating maximum reduction in carbon emissions. The annual yield from the panels is anticipated to be in the region of 910 kWh/kWp.

The newly installed solar panels are expected to generate at least 25% of the company’s electricity needs, thereby decreasing reliance on non-renewable energy sources. This reduction in carbon is the result of a continued efforts to address sustainable practices.

Speaking of this recent development, Brendan Birt, Operations Director at Tailored Image and head of its Sustainability Taskforce commented:

‘This is another encouraging development in our sustainability efforts and we’re very pleased that our relatively new headquarters has afforded us the opportunity to take this step. Our sustainability taskforce is a collaborative effort across all departments and we’re all committed to constantly and consistently raising the bar in our environmental campaign. This development is a testament to the positive impact that a diligent approach to corporate responsibility can have to both business operations and to our planet and we’ll adopt such change at every possible opportunity for a truly sustainable business.’
